With this, my latest work, I've
returned to the vessel form. The beauty of
Crystal is, of course, dependent on light. Usually the light source
is focused on the back of the Crystal object in order for it to be
transmitted through the Crystal and into the eyes of the viewer.
But, when the object is a vessel, it naturally
fills with light, and broadcasts the light through the crystal as a sphere. The
complexity of the angles accentuate the subtle hues of the Fuchsia
Crystal.
I didn't actually carve the crystal, I carved the
wax model, and cast it. |
